It has now been a week already in Malawi, I'm staying at Mphatikizo and working in remote villages, as well as at the clinic in the feeding centre. Patients seen include a crocodile bite, acute psychosis, fall from bicycle for older man with face, hands and unprotected feet versus tarmac.

Last night an incarcerated inguinal hernia in elderly in elderly woman called me out as I was climbing into bed. Presently sleeping comfortably on a foam mattress on the floor of a lovely tent pitched in Bob and Regina's compound.

It is cool at night, but hot during the day. 2 volunteers from New Zealand, Aly and Simran arriving on Friday to join me as the TroppoDoc team. All good!
